Wrapping Up 2017
22 Dec 17
Cold Banana Studio has officially finished for 2017, and what an exciting (and slightly hectic) 2017 it was! We have had such a great year as a company and seen an amazing amount of growth with a year full of great connections and partnerships made with new clients as well as working on many new, fun projects.
From moving office earlier in the year from a small shared basement office to our new office at a converted warehouse, with a more exciting interior, table tennis and a more comfortable workspace for our team and a place where our clients want to visit.
This year has seen us celebrating and investing in our talent. Our Junior Developer Ollie not only celebrated his 1 year anniversary working with us but also started his 4-year degree fully supported by Cold Banana Studio. He also managed to pick up ‘IT Star of The Future’ at the Rock Awards ceremony. Seeing the team progress more and more through the year and all being supported by one another is fantastic.
Our team has also grown massively this year, seeing us from a team of 3 to a team of 9 with Tom, Aden, Maddie, Josh and Becky joining the Cold Banana Studio Crew and all being valued additions. Alongside celebrating our Head of Development, Scotts’ one year work anniversary. Through the awards we’ve won, and the events we’ve hosted, our team has demonstrated what we can achieve when we work together. This year we were the proud winner of the Dorset Business Award for Creative and Digital Impact and for a young business like us it’s a huge honour when we’re recognised for our achievements, especially in such a digital hub like Bournemouth.
This past year we also decided to dedicate more time in immersing ourselves further into the Umbraco Community and with that we decided to host the Dorset Umbraco Meetups. We managed to fit two pizza, beer & fun-filled evenings into 2017 so we’re hoping to get three or four events into next year, where hopefully we can make new connections through networking!
2017 also saw us become Kentico certified. With a strong portfolio of case studies for the company growing through the last year, so has our reputation as a .NET Development Agency. We managed to further our expertise this year with Kentico. A global industry leader with over 1,000 partners across 80 countries. Being Kentico Specialists now we are able to create seamless CMS systems and e-commerce platforms.
To top it all off we celebrated our second birthday as Cold Banana Studio this year, and we’re looking forward to what 2018 has to bring for us. To celebrate such a great wrap up of 2017 we’re going to Amsterdam as a company treat in the New Year. Roll on 2018!
